Our new website is live!

“We wanted to change the focus of the website to make it less about us and more about how we can help our clients.”, Kyloe co-founder and Director Raymond Pennie told us. “The Kyloe brand tone of voice had also been diluted over time, so it was time we found our voice again.”

Following extensive planning, rigorous reviews, lots of laughs, and a few tears, we now have a site that is built around the user experience and journey.

A chance meeting between Raymond, and Jeff Riley, Managing Director of Imajica Brand Evolution, at Scotland House in London back in 2018 sparked the conversation that would eventually lead to the new website development.

After initially bonding over a shared love for Aberdeen Football Club, Raymond and Jeff kept in touch, but it was Imajica’s expertise in creating engaging, client-focused solutions that persuaded us that they were the best partners to evolve and bring our new website to life.
Being headquartered in the Orkney Islands – separated by the British mainland by 16km of water - having regular in person meetings with Aberdeen-based Imajica wasn’t viable, so we agreed to kick things off with Imajica making a trip up north.

Following a false start due to flight cancellations prompted by weather issues, and a long day of Imajica sitting around in Aberdeen airport, the start date was pushed back by a couple of weeks.

The following month, Steve Reid (Director, Imajica), arrived in Orkney for the first time after taking a somewhat turbulent flight, and we were able to get things moving.

During this time, Steve took the time to listen to our objectives and really understand our ethos and solutions.

After discussing the challenges faced by our clients and almost repapering the walls with post-it notes, we agreed that the new site should be setup in a way that would guide them to a solution as quickly as possible.

One of the key changes on the new site is a restructured navigation menu and addition of a search bar – making sure that our products and services are easy to find.
Jeff explained why they felt that a solutions-focused approach was the right route to go: “Previously, the Kyloe site was structured around internal products and services teams. In our experience, clients simply don’t care about this, so our solutions approach harnesses the strength of the Kyloe team as a whole to offer the best solution for each of the personas identified as using the site.”

“This approach ensures the client journey is streamlined, thoughtful and intuitive, giving reassurance with success stories, and solutions to their problems through a variety of products and services.”

After going through internal reviews and some adjustments we were ready to prepare to go live. It was at this point that we all moved to working from home as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Being used to having 250 miles between us and Imajica we were well prepared for this - thanks to daily catch-ups and regular video calls we were able to stay on top of our deadlines and get the site up and running on time.

We would like to thank Jeff, Steve, and Craig at Imajica, along with our team of Kyloevians, for their hard work in making the site what it is.
