Meet the Team: Peter Hersey

We’ve been working with several Invenias clients since adding Invenias by Bullhorn to our Systems Integration portfolio last year. Peter Hersey (Invenias Implementation Consultant, and Kyloe’s official tallest team member) joined us in December 2020 and brings a wealth of Invenias experience with him.

Lauren Miller (Marketing Manager, Kyloe Partners) caught up with Peter to learn more about his role and how he’s seen technology change the executive search industry, as well as some of the main challenges he anticipates for the industry this year.
Lauren: Welcome, Peter! Can you share a bit about what your role involves?

Peter: Hi Lauren, I’m here to help clients transition from legacy software to Invenias, whether it be helping with consulting / training or migrations, I’ll be supporting through the journey. In addition, if a client has bespoke needs for reporting or data work, I’ll ensure it’s delivered to their satisfaction.

I really enjoy resolving client pain points and allowing their database to add value to their business processes, so I’m looking forward to the problem-solving challenges!
LM: It’s great to have someone with your level of Invenias and executive search knowledge joining the team. How have you seen technology change the exec search industry?

PH: The move towards digital transformation has changed how executive search firms operate and deliver value for customers. Specifically, for Invenias, delivering high value via talent intelligence – this has been a real game changer in identifying elite candidates that are right for the role.

Of course, as a result of COVID-19 the ability to adapt to a remote working setup has become even more important than ever before. Executive firms that have moved to the cloud have reaped the benefits of being able to continue finding the right candidates while working from home. We’ve also seen a huge surge for online interviews and assessments in the industry.

LM: We’re now a year into when COVID-19 changed the world - what are the main challenges for executive search firms that you anticipate for the next year?

PH: People have gotten used to new ways of interacting – meetings that might have involved a dinner or drinks before are now being done over a Zoom call. This has made connecting with people quicker and easier, but on the flipside its harder to pick up on the non-verbal cues - like body language - that help us have meaningful interactions and in turn build quality connections.

One of the things that firms need to prepare for is for talent to not want to go back to the old ‘face to face way’ of doing things. It’s so important to consider how they can continue adapting to give the best output with the resources available. Machine learning and AI could be really helpful here – it might not be able to replace the human elements, but it can enrich the details and evaluate candidates and companies with incredible precision.
