Candidate experience
In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare staffing, the crucial question remains:
How do we ensure our clinicians and contingent workforce receive the support they deserve? How can we express gratitude for their unwavering commitment to care? These questions resonate deeply, especially as the industry faces the staggering departure of healthcare professionals.
When we talk about candidate experience, attracting and retaining clinicians is at the forefront of the conversation.
According to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, around 100,000 Registered Nurses left the workforce during the past two years & over 600,000 plan to leave in the next 4 years, many citing stress and burnout as reasons for leaving.
With a nursing shortage, finding and keeping talent proves challenging. Leaders in the healthcare staffing space are setting themselves apart by offering wellness programs, support services and mental health resources.
Some of the recommendations that came up throughout the conference:
- Ensuring that clinicians have accessibility to their recruiter throughout their entire lifecycle
- Offering housing resources to travelling clinicians
- Offering support and stipends to clinicians when cancellations happen
- Individualizing the experience in ways that make sense for your talent pool
