Adapting to changing priorities is key
I provide IT support to Kyloe teams across the US, UK and Australia, covering ad-hoc requests and longer term project work. Working across different time zones can mean that what I come into in the morning is completely different to what I left behind the night before! On the occasion that a major system issue arises I need to be able to prioritise and switch my focus quickly.
I’ve been into computers ever since I could pick up a NES controller
My IT career spans various positions and industries. The nature of IT changes very little between fields; the major learning curve for me has been how industries use IT for different purposes. One thing that’s helped me in all of my roles is my eye for detail - in the world of IT it’s all about detail; if a cmdlet has just one character out, the script will not run correctly.
We’ve started an amazing journey
In being part of a small company you’re encouraged to provide new ideas, your recommendations are listened to more, and you can really make a difference! This helps to foster an open way of working where you feel genuinely valued as a team member.
My advice for someone interested in joining the Kyloe team?
Be prepared for, and to do, anything; being a growing company means that we’re learning and adapting as we go, and that requires flexibility. Taking responsibility is also important – depending on your role, you could be THE ‘go to’ person!
