Meet the Kyloe Team: Gareth Thomson, Project Manager

Kyloe were delighted to welcome Gareth to the team back in June this year. Learn more about Gareth and his role as a Project Manager below.

What is your role as a Project Manager at Kyloe?

We have two sets of teams that work together to reach a previously agreed target. My job is to be the referee, but I also play for both sides. I make sure both sides play fair, both sides are happy, and I make sure we reach the target in a way that both teams are happy with.

What are some of the tasks you do as part of your role?

I plan the project and I am the focal point between the client and the Kyloe Project Team. It’s my job to ensure that the Project is delivered on time and within budget. If something goes wrong, it is down to me to make sure it gets fixed as soon as possible.

What have you learned since joining Kyloe?

Having spent many years in the Oil and Gas sector, I have had to learn a completely new industry and everything that goes with it. I joined Kyloe thinking I had a good overview of recruitment, I quickly found I had and have so much to learn. I have learnt how the industry works, how data migration works and how much Kyloe has to offer clients outwith just migrating their data from their existing instance to Bullhorn.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Kyloe?

Being an Orcadian born and bred, I love that I am working for company based in Orkney, yet I am able to do my job from where I live in Aberdeen.

Any tips for someone looking to join Kyloe?

If you have positivity, drive and want to help people, then Kyloe is the company for you!

Facts about Gareth

1. I’m a semi-professional musician with my main instruments being Acoustic Guitar, Singing and Saxophone.

2. When I was 20, I finished 4th in the final of the 200m at the Scottish Indoor Championships.

3. I will play any sport! From snooker to volleyball, football to basketball and I love racquet sports.

4. I love cooking!

5. There are not many styles of music I don’t like, but my favourites have to be Big Band, Jazz, Classical, Dance (House), Funk/Soul and Pop, but I’m really an Oasis kid at heart!
