For agencies who hold millions of records, moving their own data would be a mammoth task!
As part of the Data Team, I work with clients who want to move their data from one system to another. This involves writing scripts to mass extract the data from their current system, and transform it to make it fit into the new Bullhorn system. Each project is different and working out the best approach is part of the fun.
I wasn’t sure about data work at first
After graduating with a Computer Science degree I had my sights set on a software developer role, so when Kyloe asked if I’d be interested in a Data Engineer role I was initially hesitant. But, after being briefed about the role, it sounded a lot more interesting than what I’d first thought. Nine months into the job and I really enjoy it.
Solving a problem together with the team is very gratifying
My favourite thing about working at Kyloe is the opportunity to be creative and really put my mind to a task. I'm also grateful for how Kyloe respect out of office time; especially important as we have colleagues and clients within different timezones all over the globe. Oh, and the biscuits. Having a team manager who arrives with biscuits is an added bonus!
I was trained from day one
Before starting at Kyloe I knew very little about the recruitment industry and Bullhorn. As soon as I started, I was not only trained on the technical knowledge of development, but also attended extensive sessions on agency processes, and the functionality of Bullhorn. This was very helpful and made me feel confident knowing the context of the work that was involved.
My advice for someone interested in joining the Kyloe team?
To this day I’m still learning, and there will always be new things to learn along the way. As long as you have a healthy attitude, a willingness to learn and keep asking questions then it will get you a long way.
