Why it’s a problem

Dirty data isn’t just something that you can overcome through workarounds – the problem goes far deeper. A workaround is only a temporary plaster – ignore the issue for too long and it can cause some serious damage to not only your database, but also your business.

Wasted time and lost revenue - Inaccurate data makes it harder to find and be confident about the information that you want. This results in poor search results that don’t match your client’s requirements, and longer communication time with suitable candidates which in turn increases the potential for lost revenue.

Decisions based on inaccurate reporting - To make better business decisions that are right for your company you need to have a good understanding of where your business is. To be able to get accurate reporting that you can take valuable insights from, you need a solid foundation of reliable data.

Automations that ‘don’t work’ - We’re seeing significant investment into automation within the recruiting and staffing industry, but companies are often disappointed with the outputs. The problem usually stems not from the automations themselves, but the data that these are based on. The majority of candidates you add to your database are already in there. We often speak to staffing companies who think they have double the number of records than they really do, because so many of them are dupes.

Duplicate records can hugely impact the efficiency of your staff and damage the candidate and client experience.

For example, perhaps it's taking too much time to find the correct record, notes for the same person are being saved across multiple records (so there’s no single source of truth), or automations are sending multiple emails to the same person (causing them to unsubscribe).

Incomplete data

Missing things like phone number or email address means you can’t get in touch with your contacts, and also missing files (like CVs/resumes) means you can’t submit them when you need to, leading to you wasting time and missing out on placements.
